Pumpkin flowers, day 2


Pumpkin flowers are edible. If I knew how to cook them, I'd be pigging out tonight.

My mother-in-law makes them. She dips them in milk, coats them in crushed crackers (saltines or club) and then fries them in butter. She says anything would taste good cooked like that..but that is how I have eaten them and they are delicious.

Yeah, I googled it and it seems that's how most people do it, but everyone adds spices according to their culture. One person from India was putting turmeric, a guy from the States put beer in the batter, an Italian used oregano... I guess I can come up with my own batter. Mine will have chocolate in it. Or cheese. :)
