Flower #3


Pumpkin!!!!!

And a huge pumpkin flower it is, too. About 6" across. And it flowered in only 58 days, versus 70 last year. On the other hand, last year I planted them earlier, so it flowered July 24, which isn't that much different. So either it's dependent on light more than time elapsed, in which case it should fruit in another month, or it does have a 17% faster growth rate this year, which would make sense since it has water and fertilizer, in which case it should fruit towards August 14.

Also, you can't see in the photo but I've obtained some 1" rigid insulation and laid it under the pumpkin vines, that way they're not exposed directly to the concrete anymore. Hopefully with all this extra care they're getting, I will finally have a pumpkin this year.
